His Excellency Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, President and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces of the Republic of Kenya on Wednesday, 21 November 2018 received H.E. Filipe Nyusi, President of Mozambique at State House, Nairobi.
The Mozambique President was accompanied by his spouse Isaura Nyusi and on arrival at State House, Nairobi inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by Kenya Air Force personnel from Moi Air Base. The parade was followed by an elaborate 21-gun salute state reception by the Kenya Navy.
The Mozambique leader later signed the distinguished visitors’ book before holding a joint press briefing with H.E. President Kenyatta. He was later escorted to Parliament where he laid a wreath at the mausoleum.
President Nyusi is on a one week visit in the Country and is expected among other things, to grace with other leaders, the upcoming Blue Economy Conference at Kenyatta International Conference Centre.
Others present at the function included First Lady Margaret Margaret Kenyatta, Cabinet Secretaries including Defence CS Ambassador Raychelle Omamo, Chief of Defence Forces General Samson Mwathethe, Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General Walter Raria, Commander Kenya Air Force Major General Francis Ogolla, Commander Kenya Navy Major General Levi Mghalu, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet among other senior government officials.
