The SRCC later visited the wards to share a word of encouragement and quick recovery with the troops hospitalised there. He also presented them with goodies for Christmas to appreciate their dedication and contribution towards ensuring a peaceful Somalia.
“We are very grateful to the Government of Kenya for putting these medical facilities at our disposal. We would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Quick recovery to the troops so that you may soon join us in Somalia again. We value you so much,” he said. His visit around the wards was chaperoned by Lieutenant Colonel (Dr) Caroline Kithinji.

He said he is happy with the way AMISOM patients are handled and because of this they have high morale despite their injuries. He also commended the quality of treatment DFMH offers to its patients and thanked the Government of Kenya for availing such standards and quality of treatment to AMISOM troops.
“Two weeks ago I was in Dhobley and I saw how the Kenyan Government handles its troops at sector II. I was very impressed with the type of organisation, battle readiness and capacity to respond to any approaching threats,” he added.
Accompanying the SRCC, were the AMISOM Force Commander, General Jim Owasigire, Head of Mission support, Major General Fidza Dlulu, AMISOM’s Medical Planner Dr. Komlan Moreira, Dr Mahesh Babu from the UN, and senior Military officers.
