Kenya Defence Forces medical team distributes toothbrush and toothpaste to children at Larisoro dispensary.
The Kenya Air Force (KAF) led medical team conducted medical outreach services to locals in Larisoro, Isiolo County from 23 to 24 August 2019.
Approximately 200 families benefited from the Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) exercise that was conducted at the Larisoro dispensary. The CIMIC exercise was conducted as part of the African Partnership Flight program.
Some of the services provided includes diagnosis and treatment of various illnesses such as Malaria, Trachoma, colds and flu, chest infections, worm infestations, abdominal infections among others.
The team further offered eye care, dental services, nutrition, pharmaceutical prescription and Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) check-ups. Those who were not treated were given referrals so as they could get comprehensive medical care. The majority of those who benefited from the medical aid were children and women.
The medical team headed by Lt.Col Julius Mghanga was drawn from the Kenya Army (KA) and KAF and included Officers and Service Members specialized in different medical fields.
