Regional Defence Liaison Officers Visit KDF Soldiers Marking EAC Armed Forces’ Week in Uganda

East African Community Defence Liaison Officers on Saturday, 3rd February 2018 visited Kenyan Contingent at Kamuge Health Centre III and Apopong Health Centre III where the KDF soldiers are conducting Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities together with their Ugandan counterparts. EAC partner states are in Uganda for the First EAC Armed Forces’ Week and Uganda’s Army Day also referred to as ‘Tarehe Sita’. The celebrations will be held on Tuesday 6 February, 2018 at Buteleja District.

Speaking on behalf of the liaison officers, Colonel Francis Ronald Mbindi who is the Defence Liaison Officer for Tanzania at the EAC Secretariat thanked KDF and UPDF soldiers for their dedicated service to the people they serve. He said the CIMIC activities are meant to strengthen the relationship between the military and the people they serve. He urged the soldiers to continue with the same spirit of service to humanity.
The other Defence Liaison Officers included Colonel Bernard Oluoch (Kenya), Colonel Matur Dharuai Yor (South Sudan), Colonel Zack Nsenga (Rwanda) and Colonel Aloys Sindayihebura (Burundi).
