National Flag Handover To The 11th World Military Women’s Volleyball Championship Team

The Chairman KDF Volleyball team Brigadier Eric Kinuthia, Base Commander Laikipia Air Base receives the Kenyan flag from the Vice Chief of Defence Forces Lieutenant General Joseph Kasaon during the National flag handover to the participants of the 11th World Military Women’s Volleyball Championship team to which will be held on 26 May – 4 June 2018 in Canada.

The Vice Chief of Defence Forces (VCDF) Lieutenant General Joseph Kasaon on Thursday, 17 May 2018 at the Defence Headquarters Camp Admin Unit (DHQ CAU) officially handed over the national flag to the Kenya Defence Forces Women’s Volleyball team, as they prepare to participate in the 11th World Military Women’s Volleyball Championships set to take place in Canada between 26th May and 4th June 2018.

Speaking during the event, the VCDF challenged the team to give their best and ensure Kenya’s and KDF’s names continued to shine, adding that sportsmanship, discipline and dedication were of essence to the team. The VCDF handed over the National flag to Brigadier Eric Kinuthia, the Chairman of the Volleyball team and Base Commander Laikipia Air Base.

The team of 14 players from various KDF formations is headed by Captain Samuel Ndegwa and Captained by Captain (Dr) Eugene Oloo, and managed by Senior Sergeant Alfred Chedotom. The team won last year’s East African Military Games crown during the games in Burundi.

Others present during the flag handover ceremony were Kenya Army Commander Lieutenant General Robert Kibochi, DHQ CAU Commandant Colonel Ezekiel Ondieki, Senior Officers, Officers and Service Members.
