The ACDF P&L Major General Samuel Nandwa said that the projected intention of the Kenya Defence Forces was to continue partnering with Kenyatta University in other fields like the Aeronautical Engineering, Research, Innovation and outreach. He challenged the 08 intake of CADETS to establish a long lasting relationship with the lecturers during their period of study, and also to grab the opportunity to advance their intellectual capabilities. He urged them to maintain high levels of discipline and commitment to the sturdy programme.
Speaking during the occasion, the acting Kenyatta University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Fredrick Gravniel expressed his pride at the good relations between Kenyatta University and Kenya Military Academy through the training programme. The Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor on behalf of the Chancellor reminded the cadets to embrace good qualities during the course in order to achieve results. He stated that since the course was not only theoretical and philosophical, he calls for extra hard work in line with the requirements of the course. To be the best does not come easily, you need to develop a personal strategy that begins with an individual. He reminded them of the Kenya Defence Forces Kaizen principle of continuous self-improvement.
As a final word to the matriculates, the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor quoted Martin Luther King Junior saying “The function of education is to teach someone to think intensively and to think critically”, and therefore the education skills the cadets would acquire in their training programme, would come in handy in making critical decisions in the line of duty.
