ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF GENERAL SERVICE OFFICER (GSO) CADETS AND TRADESMEN/WOMEN INTO THE ARMED FORCES

1. The Kenya Armed Forces is pleased to announce to the general public that there will be a recruitment of General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets and Tradesmen/Women soon. Prospective candidates wishing to apply must possess the following relevant requirements.

2. Requirements

•  Must be Kenyan citizens.

•  Age: Between 18 and 26 years old.

•  Be medically fit.

•  Have no criminal record.

•  Minimum Height: 5 ft 3 in. (5'3”).

•  Minimum Weight:

•  Men – 54.55 Kg (120 lb).

•  Women – 50.00 Kg (110 lb).

•  Women candidates must NOT be pregnant.

•  Education:

(a)General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets

A minimum of mean grade B (Plain) in KCSE with minimum subject grade of C+ (Plus) in English, Mathematics and in any one of the Pure Sciences (Physics, Chemistry or Biology)

(b)Tradesmen/Women

1.   Technicians : A minimum of mean grade C- (Minus) in KCSE, a relevant diploma or above from a recognized Institution and be registered with the relevant statutory bodies, where applicable.

2. Artisans : A minimum of mean grade D (Plain) in KCSE and either a relevant certificate with Government Trade Test Grade II or Craft II from a recognized Institution.

5. Candidates who are shortlisted will be notified through the print media between:

a.  7 th and 15 th August 2010 for the case of General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets

b.  2 nd and 10 th October 2010 for the case of Tradesmen/Women
