TAEKWONDO

Moi Air Base has been a powerhouse in Taekwondo and has dominated the national championships since 1978. MAB has been the breeding ground for the bulk of the Defence Forces and national Taekwondo exponents who have represented the nation at continental and international championships.

Key among them is Sgt Hastings Ngala. His accolades include: Silver medal (6th all Africa Games Harare 1995), Bronze medal (13th World Taekwondo championships Hong Kong 1997), Silver medal (4th African Taekwondo championships Nairobi 1998), Silver medal (2nd World military games Croatia 1999), Gold medal (7th African Taekwondo championships Johannesburg 1999), Gold medal (15th World Taekwondo championships Iowa USA 2000), Gold medal (1st African military games Nairobi 2002), Gold medal (2nd Canadian international Taekwondo championship Ontario Canada 2002), Silver medal (14th Dutch Taekwondo championship - Amsterdam 2003). Silver medalist (1st African Taekwondo championship - Madagascar 2005) among others.
