JOINT HELICOPTER TRAINING SCHOOL (JHTS)

Mission

The Mission of the School is to train Defence Forces Officers and Servicemen to be qualified Helicopter Crew.

Vision

The school vision is to produce aircrew with necessary skills to enhance effective support to the Army Mission(s) whilst conforming to Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Standards.

Roles

  • Provide basic knowledge and flight techniques to officers to enable them qualify as Helicopter pilots in accordance with Aircrew Training Manual.
  • Provide training to Other Ranks to qualify as gunners/Observers up to the standards prescribed in Aircrew Training Manual.
  • Provide command, control, maintenance and effective management of School training resources.
