KENYA ORDNANCE FACTORIES CORPORATION (KOFC)

INTRODUCTION TO KOFC

The Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation herein after referred to as KOFC is a State Corporation established under Legal Notice No. 125 of 23 July 1997. KOFC is Kenya 's only ammunition production firm. KOFC with its HQs in Eldoret has two (2) Divisions:

a.Small Arms Ammunition Division

b.Special Projects Division

To enhance national security through guaranteed production of quality small arms ammunition and related auxiliary products for the nation.

To produce hardware, machinery and equipment to meet needs of security agencies.

Location

KOFC is located within Eldoret town. Eldoret has a population of 680,000 and is the fifth largest town in Kenya after Nairobi , Mombasa , Kisumu, and Nakuru. It is halfway between Nairobi and Kampala .

Communication

Eldoret is well served by Tarmac Roads to the main urban centres of which the Uganda Road is important. The town is linked to the major ports & towns in the region by Railway line. The Eldoret International Airport is 15 Km south of the town.

The KOFC is ISO 9001:2000 Certified.

KOFC attained ISO 9001:2000 certification on 14th May 2006. Our Products conform to high Standards of manufacture.
