The trophies for the different categories were awarded to Kenya Defence Forces senior officers on different days by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto. The President visited the MOD Pavilion where he was shown the various innovation and technology by the Defence Forces Technical College (DEFTEC), the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital (DFMH) and the Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporations (KOFC).

This technology reduces infections, theatre time thus increasing the chance to save lives of injured soldiers. Intellispace Critical Care and Anesthesia, (ICCA) is another technology acquired by DFMH with a capability to monitor critically sick patients, collect, store and transform clinical data into actionable information. This allows for timely and comprehensive documentation of results. The ICCA also has a DNA Centre for KDF personnel, DNA collection and analysis aids in carrying out human positive identification in case of a tragedy.
KOFC won the best local manufacturing award and emerged second best in Agro Processing for consumable products thanks to a locally innovated environmental friendly mobile kitchen that uses little biodegradable sources of power.
The KDF Welfare Centre for the second time showcased the various initiatives MOD has put in place to offer timely assistance to its personnel and their families when faced with unprecedented life events, including the Defence Sacco. The Kenya Space Agency on the other hand has made progress in drone technology which is used in agriculture for production and pest control purposes.
