Kenya Defence Forces’ (KDF) Muslim Chaplaincy and the National Counter- Terrorism Centre (NCTC) team conducted a one-day security awareness talk at the Holistic Educational Trust Madrassa in Shanzu, Mombasa on Friday, 24 January 2020.
Major Hashi Duwane Bihi, on behalf of Principal Imam, led the team in presenting lectures for the second time under KDF Action Plan Initiative to the 100 students drawn from Mombasa, Lamu and Malindi on the roles and responsibilities of the represented security agencies as well as counter terrorism and cyber security awareness.
During the presentation Captain Ibrahim Gwathirwa of KDF, who represented the NCTC, took the students through cyber security which has been one of the highest platform for recruiting youth.
The lectures are aimed at enlightening the Muslim youth on matters security. The other multi-agency security stakeholders present were the National Police Service (NPS).
Holistic Educational Trust Boys follow keenly during the lectures.
