Kenya Defence Forces today honoured the President of the Federal Republic of Germany His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier during an official State Visit to the Republic of Kenya. President Steinmeier was received by His Excellency President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces Honourable Uhuru Kenyatta.

Upon his arrival at State House Nairobi, President Steinmeier was honoured with a 21-Gun Salute and a Guard of Honour by the Kenya Navy and the Kenya Air Force respectively. Chief of Defence Forces General Samson Mwathethe, Service Commanders and other Senior Military Officers were present to receive the President of Germany.

At Parliament Buildings, President Steinmeier was escorted by the Deputy Commander, Kenya Army, Major General Thomas Chepkuto in laying a wreath at the Jomo Kenyatta Mausoleum.
