Kudey locals seeking medical help at the KDF medical camp.
A team of Medics from KDF under AMISOM conducted a free medical camp on 1st February, 2017, at Kudey in Somalia. Locals turned out in numbers to seek medical attention in an exercise that is part of the Civilian Military Cooperation.
Highlight of the day was when the medical personnel assisted a mother deliver a baby after she was rushed there in labour. The KDF Medical personnel managed to save both lives in a region where maternal deaths are common due to the distance to the health centre.
The locals expressed their appreciation to KDF’s gesture. The nearest health centre is at Hargadera in Kenya which, is around 100kms from the area.
