The Director General (DG) Defence National Security Industries (DNSI), Major General Faustino Lobaly, recently commenced a familiarization tour of various Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs) in Nairobi and Eldoret.
During the visits, Major General Lobaly was briefed on the organizational structures and operations of several defence-related industries. The tour also served as an opportunity to engage directly with Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel working within these institutions, fostering early rapport and trust.
The visits further enabled the DG to interact with leadership teams across the SAGAs, gaining valuable first-hand insights into their strategic functions and contributions.
The SAGAs visited included Kenya Shipyard Limited (KSL), the Communication and Information Systems Maintenance and Innovation Centre (CISMIC), National Air Support Department (NASD), Kenya Space Agency (KSA), National Security Telecommunications Service (NSTS), Numerical Machining Complex (NMC), and Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation (KOFC). Visits to other SAGAs under Ministry of Defence will follow at a later date.
Under the leadership of the Ministry of Defence, DNSI oversees these SAGAs, which play a vital role in supporting national development and promoting self-sufficiency in resources, equipment, and materials for the KDF.
