HUNDREDS OF LOCALS BENEFIT FROM KDF MEDICAL CAMP IN LAIKIPIA

KDF Personnel under Operation Maliza Uhalifu, in collaboration with Mugie Conservancy, Governor’s Camp, local and international health professionals, conducted a community medical outreach at Dam Mbili Primary School in Lonyiek Location, Kirima Sub-County, Laikipia County.

The exercise saw the attendance of hundreds of families and individuals who benefitted from free medical consultations and treatment. Services offered included management of respiratory conditions, skin ailments, urinary tract infections, and diarrhoeal diseases, as well as nutritional assessments, immunization, and antenatal care.

Beyond treatment, the local community received health education on key topics such as personal hygiene, food safety, balanced nutrition, regular hydration, and the importance of routine clinic visits. The lead medical officer also highlighted the common illnesses affecting the region, offering insights on their causes, prevention, and available healthcare support.

In line with the broader goals of the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) programme, residents were urged to enrol their children in school as a means of combating illiteracy and steering them away from criminal and banditry-related activities. The community was further encouraged to view security personnel as allies committed to ensuring their safety and development.

Grateful for the initiative, the locals thanked the Kenya Defence Forces and their partners for the impactful outreach. They expressed hope for continued support from the KDF and other community partners.
