The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) joined the Kenya Scouts Association to mark the successful conclusion of the 2025 National Scouts Competitions and Educational Camp, held from August 2 to 5 2025 at Rowallan National Scouts Camp in Nairobi.
The Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), who also serves as the Patron of Scouts within the KDF, was represented by Brigadier Elijah Gatere, as the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony.
The four-day event brought together 8,395 Scouts from across Kenya, engaging in competition and training focused on leadership, environmental conservation, innovation, teamwork, and community service. The camp provided a dynamic and educational environment for Scouts to develop essential skills and values. Participants included Scouts from KDF-sponsored schools in Embakasi Garrison, Isiolo Barracks, Moi Barracks in Eldoret, and Moi Air Base.
On behalf of the CDF, Brigadier Gatere praised the Scouts for their discipline, creativity, and teamwork, urging them to uphold the values of service, patriotism, and leadership. The Kenya Scouts Association expressed gratitude to the KDF for its ongoing support, particularly for providing medical services that ensured the health and safety of all participants.
The Chief Guest’s representative toured the Scouts’ exhibitions and commended the participants for their talent, innovation, and dedication.
KDF’s presence underscored the military’s commitment to fostering youth leadership and character development through scouting.
The closing ceremony was attended by Chief Scout of Kenya, Prof. Jacob T. Kaimenyi, Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Scouts Association, Mr. Moses Danda, Deputy Chief Scout, Commandant of the National Traffic Police, Vice Chairperson of NACADA, among others.
