KDF LAUNCHES THE CONSTRUCTION OF SENIOR SCHOOL IN MARIAKANI

Commander Mariakani Garisson, Brigadier Joseph Mokwena recently presided over the historic ground breaking ceremony for the 16th KDF Senior School at Mariakani Garisson. This strategic educational initiative is designed to address the educational needs of Junior Secondary School (JSS) Candidates transitioning under the Competency Based Education (CBE) curriculum among the children of the KDF personnel and the residents of Kilifi County.

In his remarks during the launch, Brigadier Mokwena emphasised the importance of education as an equaliser and a recipe for a developed nation.

“I wish to thank the KDF leadership for finding it fit to mobilise funds for the construction of JSS facilities at this Garisson and their continued efforts to improve the welfare of KDF service personnel and their families. This will ease pressure of parents having to transfer their children”, he said.

The project will be implemented in phases with the initial phase scheduled to be completed by December 2025 which includes three classrooms, an administration block and ablution facilities.

This development underscores KDF commitment to educational advancement as part of improving welfare for Service personnel and their families while contributing to the national and Kilifi County educational objectives.

The launch was attended by senior officers, officers and service members from the Garrison, Kaloleni Sub County Quality Assurance Officer Clara Mwakazi, Headteacher of Mariakani Garisson Junior School Mr. Kimatha and pupils of Mariakani Garisson Junior School.
