The Kenya Ordinance Factories Corporation (KOFC) came alive during its Annual Sports Day held recently at the Corporation’s Headquarters in Eldoret County. The colourful gathering brought together staff from across all departments of the Corporation. The event was a lively showcase of energy, unity, and discipline as both military and civilian employees stepped away from their daily routines to engage in a spirited day of competition and comradeship.
The Deputy Managing Director, Brigadier Ismail Noor, graced the event on behalf of the Managing Director, Major General George Okumu. The event was sponsored by corporate partners: KCB, Coop Bank, and Westlink Electricals and Hardware Limited.
The Sports Day was not just a recreational break, but a meaningful opportunity to promote physical fitness, good health, and overall wellness among personnel. It also provided a powerful platform for teamwork, cohesion, and strengthening of bonds across the various departments. What unfolded was more than just games; it was a celebration of the collective spirit that drives KOFC.
The high-energy interdepartmental volleyball matches drew crowds that reflected the staff’s values of resilience, discipline, and collaboration. Staff cheered on their colleagues with pride, creating an atmosphere that blended friendly competition with genuine fellowship.
The Sports Day served as a reminder that KOFC’s strength lies not only in its mandate but also in the people who power it, men and women working side by side, military and civilian alike, united by purpose and strengthened through moments of shared joy. The event underscored KOFC’s commitment to nurturing a healthy, motivated, and cohesive workforce ready to deliver on its mission to the nation.
