KDF, NPS, AND COMMUNITY JOINTLY PLANT 10,000 TREES IN LAIKIPIA

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel in collaboration with the National Police Service (NPS) and members of the local community from Karandi and Tandare areas of Laikipia County planted over 10,000 trees in a joint environmental conservation initiative.

The exercise forms part of the build-up activities towards the upcoming Mazingira Day celebrations, which will be held at Ngarachi Primary School and graced by the Cabinet Secretary for Defence, Hon. Soipan Tuya.

During the activity, fruit trees and exotic seedlings were distributed to 13 schools within the region, to be planted during Mazingira Day. This is part of a broader effort aimed at achieving a target of 20,000 trees, contributing to the national environmental restoration agenda and climate resilience efforts.

The exercise not only strengthens inter-agency cooperation between the KDF, NPS, and local communities but also underscores their shared commitment to safeguarding the environment for future generations.
