The Commander Kenya Air Force, Major General Bernard Waliaula, on 7 October 2025 made a visit to Narok Forward Operating Base in Olkinyei, Narok County, where he was received by the Base Commander, Wajir Air Base, Colonel Abdi Hussein.
During the visit, Major General Waliaula commissioned a water purification plant that will provide access to clean and safe drinking water. He also launched the Defence Forces Welfare Services (DEFWES) outlet, which will serve both military personnel and the local community in Narok.
In his remarks, Major General Waliaula urged service members to strengthen their relationship with the local community to promote information sharing and enhance the military’s public image.
The Managing Director of DEFWES, Brigadier Peter Limo, noted that DEFWES has been instrumental in supporting military personnel and their families, reaffirming its commitment to their welfare and wellbeing.
Major General Waliaula also held a baraza with the troops, encouraging commanders at all levels to mentor and support their subordinates. “As soldiers, we must remain mentally alert, physically fit, and emotionally stable,” he said.
The event concluded with a tree planting exercise, underscoring the Kenya Air Force’s continued commitment to environmental conservation and improving the surrounding landscape.
