The Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri, today presided over the ground breaking ceremony for the Defence Forces Welfare Services (DEFWES) Mall at Moi Barracks, Eldoret.
The project marks a major stride in Kenya Defence Forces’ (KDF) commitment to improving the welfare and quality of life of its personnel, veterans and their families within the Eldoret region.
DEFWES remains a key player in promoting the social, economic and cultural well-being of service members through various cost friendly initiatives, including the establishment of supermarkets, restaurants and fuelling stations.
Additionally, General Kahariri commissioned the newly renovated Corporals’ Club and toured several projects within the barracks being implemented as part of ongoing preparations for the upcoming KDF Day 2025 celebrations, scheduled for 14th October at Moi Barracks.
The two ceremonies underscore the collective commitment of the KDF leadership to improving welfare and operational infrastructure for soldiers across the military.
The CDF was accompanied by the Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General David Ketter, General Officer Commanding Western Command, Major General Jeff Nyagah, Director National Defence Security Industries, Major General Faustino Lobaly among other Senior Officers, Officers and Service Members.
