MILITARY ORDINARIATE CELEBRATES BISHOP NG’ANG’A’S PARENTS

The Military Ordinariate family joined His Lordship Rt. Rev. Wallace Ng’ang’a, Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Kenya, for a joyous home visit and thanksgiving Mass at his parents’ residence in Kinangop, Nyandarua County.

The vibrant ceremony drew hundreds of faithful from various dioceses, who came together to celebrate this special occasion — a grand display of faith, community, and gratitude.

The event was graced by the distinguished presence of the National Security Advisor, Ambassador Dr. Monica Juma, and Major General Jeff Nyaga, General Officer Commanding Western Command (GOC WESTCOM). Their attendance underscored the significance of Bishop Ng’ang’a’s ministry to the military, recognizing the sacrifices and dedication involved in serving both in times of peace and in operational areas.

In her remarks, Amb. Dr. Monica Juma expressed her deep appreciation to Bishop Ng’ang’a’s parents and the wider community for nurturing spiritual leaders and supporting their ministries. She commended Bishop Ng’ang’a for his selfless service to military personnel, often in challenging and hostile environments, and praised his unwavering commitment to providing spiritual guidance and comfort. Dr. Juma emphasized the importance of collaboration between religious leaders and the military in fostering peace, resilience, and national stability.

Major General Nyaga also lauded Bishop Ng’ang’a’s vital role in offering pastoral care to the military.

“I wish to express my deepest gratitude for your tireless efforts in ministering to the spiritual needs of our military personnel. Your dedication to their well-being and spiritual growth is truly valued. The Kenya Defence Forces treasures its partnership with the Church, recognizing the importance of spiritual support in enhancing soldiers’ welfare and effectiveness,” he said.

Presiding over the Mass, Bishop Wallace Ng’ang’a expressed heartfelt gratitude to the congregation and the Church for their steadfast love and support. He reflected on the importance of family, faith, and community, sharing a message that deeply moved the congregation.

“To my family, the Military Ordinariate, all dioceses represented, and the entire congregation — I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. Your presence today is a testament to the love and support that I have experienced throughout my ministry, and I am truly humbled. I thank God for the gift of family and community, and I urge us all to continue supporting one another in prayer and love. May God bless you abundantly,” he said.

The momentous occasion, led by His Lordship Rt. Rev. George Muthaka of Garissa Diocese, saw the convergence of senior clergy from various dioceses who came together to honor Bishop Ng’ang’a’s parents and celebrate his ministry and dedication to the Catholic faith. Their presence reflected the high regard in which Bishop Ng’ang’a is held within the Catholic community and highlighted the unity and solidarity among the clergy.

The ceremony concluded with a lively gifts presentation session, where the chief guests — including Major General Jeff Nyaga and Ambassador Dr. Monica Juma — joined military officers, visiting clergy, family, and friends in presenting gifts and tokens of appreciation to Bishop Ng’ang’a’s parents. The colorful event was a true expression of gratitude and affection for the Bishop’s selfless service and devotion to his ministry.

Other guests included Director of Medical Services; Major General (Dr.) George Nganga, Gilgil Garrison Commander; Brigadier Joel Cherutich, Nyandarua County Deputy Governor Hon. John Mathara; and several senior military officers, both serving and retired.
