The Commander 6th Brigade (6 BDE), Brigadier Meshack Kishoyian, concluded a three-day operational tour of Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops deployed under Operation Amani Boni (OAB) in Lamu County. The visit, which covered multiple Forward Operating Bases (FOBs), aimed at assessing the operational readiness, welfare, and coordination of troops supporting multi-agency security operations within the Boni enclave. The visit also provided an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing security operations.
While addressing troops at various locations, Brigadier Kishoyian lauded their discipline, resilience, and teamwork in maintaining security within a complex and demanding environment. He highlighted the importance of vigilance, situational awareness, and coordination with security agencies under the multi-agency framework, noting that such collaboration has been key to sustaining the gains achieved under OAB.
He urged the soldiers to remain focused, alert, and mission-driven, reaffirming that their continued dedication has been instrumental in disrupting Al-Shabaab networks, denying the enemy freedom of movement, and securing critical national development corridors, including the LAPSSET infrastructure.
Brigadier Kishoyian concluded by assuring the troops of the Command’s continued support in providing the necessary resources and logistics to sustain momentum and advance the overall mission of Operation Amani Boni, which aims to restore lasting peace and stability within the Boni enclave and its environs.
