The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, on Monday 24 November 2025, laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior during a solemn ceremony held at the Uhuru Gardens National Monument and Museum (UGNM&M) in Lang’ata, Nairobi.
The Prime Minister is in Kenya for a three-day State Visit, having arrived in the country on 23 November 2025.
Upon arrival, he paid a courtesy call on His Excellency the President of the Republic of Kenya.
At UGNM&M, PM Anwar, escorted by the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Hon. Salim Mvurya, was received by the Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General David Ketter.
A minute of silence was observed in honour of all fallen soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation, after which the Prime Minister laid a wreath as a symbol of respect, remembrance, and solidarity with Kenya’s military fraternity.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Malaysian delegation as well as senior officers and officers of the Kenya Defence Forces, pointing to the strong bilateral ties between Kenya and Malaysia.
