The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops in Wajir area recently conducted a Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) humanitarian operation to deliver emergency water supplies to residents of Hubsoy location, Wajir South Sub-County, following a distress call reporting a critical water shortage.
KDF received an urgent call from Mr. Mohamed, the Hubsoy Area Chief, reporting a life-threatening shortage of water affecting the local community. In response, KDF immediately planned and organized a humanitarian patrol to support the affected.
The KDF personnel successfully delivered water to the local population, providing much needed relief to families who had been facing acute water scarcity and the residents of Hubsoy expressed deep appreciation and gratitude to the KDF team for their swift response and humanitarian support.
During the operation, the soldiers assessed the situation and confirmed that the area is experiencing a serious and life-threatening water crisis, underscoring the urgent need for sustained humanitarian intervention and long-term water solutions.
The CIMIC is part of the Kenya Defence Forces’ continued commitment to protecting lives, supporting communities, and promoting human security, in addition to their core security mandate.
