COMMANDANT KMA JOINS CADETS DURING TRAINING EXERCISE

The Commandant Kenya Military Academy (KMA), Major General Joel M’arimi, on 3rd February 2026, joined Cadets during a field training exercise code named ‘Exercise Thunder Strike’ in Samburu County.

The exercise is a key milestone in the cadet foundational training designed to hone the cadets’ leadership skills and evaluate their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in a tactical operational context.

During his address, the Commandant appreciated the exercise play while emphasizing the importance of such realistic training in preparing future officers to operate effectively in complex and evolving security environments. Further noting that such exercises are critical in shaping capable and resilient leaders for the Kenya Defence Forces.
