DNSI VISITS KENYA MEAT COMMISSION

The Director General, Defence National Security Industries (DNSI), Major General Faustino Lobaly, today conducted a maiden visit to the Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) to assess the institution’s capacity and explore opportunities for enhanced support to national security-related supply chains.

The visit focused on gaining a deeper understanding of the Commission’s operational capabilities, production standards, and its role in supporting food supply to national institutions. Major General Lobaly held engagements with KMC management led by the Managing Commissioner, Major General Jattani Gula, in discussions aimed at identifying operational gaps and developing mitigation measures to improve efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in meat processing and distribution.

During the visit, Major General Lobaly also toured key facilities within the Commission, gaining firsthand insight into ongoing modernisation efforts, production processes, and quality assurance mechanisms currently being undertaken to enhance service delivery.

The engagement underscored the Kenya Defence Forces’ commitment, through DNSI, to supporting Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs) and strengthening strategic initiatives that contribute to national food security and resilience.
