Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops deployed in the Wajir area, on 5 February 2026 conducted a Civil–Military Cooperation (CIMIC) humanitarian operation to deliver emergency water supplies to residents of Bojiyare Centre in Wajir West Sub-County.
The intervention was undertaken to assist local residents in alleviating a critical water shortage occasioned by the ongoing severe weather affecting the region.
Speaking during the water delivery exercise, Major Hillary Pyaban encouraged the residents to continue cooperating with security agencies by sharing timely information in support of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and enhance security in the area.
The residents of Bojiyare, led by the area Chief Mr. Wardere Khahiye, expressed their appreciation to the troops, noting that the area is currently facing acute drought conditions and that the gesture was a life-saving intervention for the community.
The locals further pledged their continued collaboration with security agencies through information sharing to support peace and stability within the region.
