COMMANDER KENYA ARMY ATTENDS 45TH TAREHE SITA ANNIVERSARY

Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General David Ketter, on behalf of Chief of the Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri, attended the 45th Tarehe Sita Anniversary Celebrations of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) in Kabale District, Uganda.‎

The event, marking the historic foundation of the UPDF, was held at the National Teachers’ College Playground and was attended by the President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Museveni, senior government and military leaders, veterans and members of the public from across the region.

Celebrated under the theme “Defending the Gains of the Revolution and Honoring the Sacrifices of the Freedom Fighters: A Call for National Unity, Peace and Socio-Economic Transformation,” the occasion underscored the enduring role of disciplined armed forces in safeguarding sovereignty, promoting stability and supporting national development.

‎The celebrations featured a military parade, cultural performances and tributes to fallen heroes symbolising resilience, patriotism, the enduring spirit of service, Civili Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities, tree planting among others.

The presence of Commander Kenya Army reaffirmed the strong bilateral ties between Kenya and Uganda and underscored their shared commitment to regional security and mutual prosperity.
