COMMANDER KENYA AIR FORCE VISITS SPORTS CAMP

On 12 February 2026, the Commander Kenya Air Force, Major General Bernard Waliaula, visited the Kenya Air Force Sports Detachment Camp in Ngong. He was received by the Base Commander Moi Air Base, Brigadier Herbert Wafula.

During the visit, the Commander toured key facilities, assessed infrastructure, and held candid engagements with service members on ways to enhance the efficiency and operational value of the camp.

Addressing the troops, Major General Waliaula commended the athletes for their outstanding performance, noting that they have brought recognition and honour to the KDF, Kenya Air Force and to the nation at large.

“Through your hard work, discipline and unwavering commitment, you have demonstrated that excellence in uniform extends far beyond operational duties. It also shines brightly on the sporting field,” said the Commander.

The Commander reiterated that sports within the military is not a luxury but a strategic investment. He observed that it builds stamina, sharpens mental agility, strengthens teamwork, and cultivates leadership, which are essential qualities of an effective and combat ready Air Force.

He also expressed appreciation to the coaches and support staff for their dedication, mentorship and commitment, noting that their contribution goes beyond athletic success.

“You are moulding disciplined individuals who represent the values of loyalty, courage, professionalism, integrity and teamwork,” he stated.

In his remarks, Brigadier Wafula expressed gratitude to the Commander and the Kenya Air Force leadership for their continued support to the sports programme.

Also in attendance were Principal Staff Officers from Kenya Air Force Headquarters, Senior Officers, Officers and Service members.
