The Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF), Major General Bernard Waliaula, hosted the Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Kenya, Wallace Ng’ang’a, at the Kenya Air Force Headquarters. The Bishop, who oversees the spiritual welfare of members of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and their families, held consultations with the Commander on strengthening chaplaincy support within the Air Force.

Discussions focused on enhancing spiritual resilience, moral leadership, and psycho-social support to sustain personnel across diverse operational environments. Major General Waliaula underscored the vital role of faith-based support structures in reinforcing discipline, cohesion, and mental fortitude, noting that operational effectiveness is anchored not only on capability and technology, but also on strong moral and ethical foundations. He commended the Military Ordinariate for its continued collaboration in delivering structured pastoral care, counselling, and family support programmes that contribute to overall force readiness.

In a separate engagement, the Commander also received the Kenya’s Defence Attachés to various allied countries. The meetings provided a platform to advance defence diplomacy and bilateral cooperation, with deliberations covering professional military education exchanges, joint training, interoperability, and emerging air power domains.

Major General Waliaula reaffirmed KAF’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships in support of Kenya’s defence objectives. The courtesy calls highlighted the Air Force’s balanced focus on operational excellence and holistic personnel welfare in safeguarding national airspace and promoting regional stability.
