SECURITY AGENCIES UNDERTAKE FAMILIARIZATION VISIT TO KOFC FACILITIES

A multi-agency delegation team from security institutions conducted a familiarization visit to the Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation (KOFC) headquarters at Eldoret as part of efforts to enhance customer centric services.

The delegation was taken through various KOFC sites, including production lines, quality assurance sections, and storage facilities. The officers received detailed briefings on the Corporation’s production processes, traceability systems, and stringent quality control measures applied across its operations.

Speaking during the tour, the Managing Director of KOFC, Major General George Okumu, underscored the importance of sustained inter agency cooperation in strengthening national security, improving service delivery, and enhancing collective operational effectiveness.

“It’s through such support and collaboration that we will achieve industrialization in the security sector,” he added.

The Assistant Inspector General, Administration Police Mr. Jackson Kisang OGW, commended the organizations customer service and the initiative to tour the factory where they were taken through the processes that ensure quality products are delivered to them.

“This visit has provided us with a platform for inter-agency engagement, during which issues relating to product quality and safety standards were discussed,” he added.

The Senior Administrative Director, Kenya Wildlife Service Mr. Martin Mureithi promised to increase the range of products they source from KOFC like bread, flour, bottled water, and dry vegetation.

The engagement opened avenues for enhanced collaboration, with interest expressed in strengthening partnerships, internship opportunities, and industrial attachment programmes at the factory.
