Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General David Ketter, visited troops based in Thika Garrison. The visit was aimed at assessing troop morale and welfare while appreciating their steadfast commitment to duty.
During the visit, the Army Commander reaffirmed the Service’s unwavering commitment to sustained combat readiness through continuous training enhancement, progressive equipment modernization and strengthened troop’s welfare.
Lieutenant General Ketter emphasized that training remains the foundation of mission success, calling on commanders at all levels to prioritize mission-oriented exercises aligned with evolving security dynamics. On equipment modernization, the Commander reiterated the Army’s resolve to progressively upgrade its capabilities in line with the demands of contemporary warfare.
“Training is the engine that drives our operational readiness. We must remain adaptive, innovative, and prepared to respond decisively to emerging and complex threats. Modern equipment not only enhances operational effectiveness but also safeguards our personnel. We will continue investing in capabilities that enable the Kenya Army to execute its mandate with precision, confidence, and resilience,” he affirmed.
Addressing troop welfare, Lieutenant General Ketter underscored its critical role in sustaining morale, cohesion and operational output. He assured personnel that their well-being and that of their families, remains a command priority.
