On Thursday 19 February 2026, participants of the Senior Joint Command and Staff Course SJCSC 41-2025/26, conducted a visit to Laikipia Air Base (LAB) in Nanyuki. The delegation was led by Colonel Amani Kotea (Head of Teaching Team) accompanied by the Directing Staff from the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC).
The delegation was warmly received by Colonel Hillary Kipkirui (Deputy Base Commander, LAB) and senior officers from the Base. Later, the participants received a comprehensive briefing on the organisation, structure and operational roles of the Base. They then participated in a guided tour of key facilities.
The primary objective of the visit was to provide course participants with practical insights into the critical contribution of Laikipia Air Base to national defence and security. The engagement enabled participants to better understand the integration of air power within the broader framework of the Kenya Defence Forces’ mission to safeguard the nation.
