The institutions visited included Maramba Tea Factory, State Department for Agriculture, Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), the Directorate of Budget at National Treasury, Safaricom PLC, State Department for ICT, Numerical Machining Complex (NMC), State Department for Industry, Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and State Department for Medical Services. The Commandant of the Joint Command and Staff College, Major General Eric Kinuthia, led the team that visited the NMC and the State Department for Industry while the Deputy Commandant/Chief Instructor, Brigadier David Chesire headed the team that visited Nairobi Securities Exchange and the Directorate of Budget at the National Treasury.

The primary objective of these visits was to bridge theoretical classroom learning with real-world operations at these institutions, with a particular emphasis on integrating national industrial capacity into defence and security frameworks. The theme guiding the engagements was “ *Opportunities for Regional Security through National Industrial Development and Technological Innovations.* ”

These NIC visits form a key component of the SJCSC curriculum, reinforcing the College’s commitment to equipping middle level student officers with a comprehensive understanding of how industrial and technological advancements contribute to national and regional security.
