The Chief of the Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri, hosted the Commander, US Naval Forces Europe and Africa, Admiral George Wikoff, on 24 March 2026 at Defence Headquarters in Nairobi.
During the visit, the two leaders held discussions on key security issues of mutual interest, including regional security, counterterrorism efforts, and the role of emerging technologies in modern defence operations. They also explored opportunities to further strengthen defence cooperation between the Kenya Defence Forces and the United States, particularly in maritime security and joint training initiatives.
General Kahariri reaffirmed the importance of sustained collaboration between Kenya and the United States in addressing evolving security challenges and enhancing regional operational readiness.
Admiral Wikoff commended the Kenya Defence Forces for its professionalism and commitment to promoting regional peace and stability, noting that the partnership between the two forces remains vital in advancing shared security interests.
The visit reaffirmed the longstanding military relationship between the Kenya Defence Forces and the United States, particularly in capacity building, maritime domain awareness, and joint exercises aimed at enhancing operational readiness.
