SERVICE FOSTERS LASTING PEACE

SERVICE FOSTERS LASTING PEACE

Peace is built not only through security operations but also through meaningful engagement with communities. Guided by this approach, a multi-agency Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) outreach at Omar Village, K165, delivered essential services while deepening cooperation between the security agencies and local residents.

The multi-agency outreach brought together the security agencies and the National Government Authority officials (NGAO) operating under Operation Amani Boni (OAB) amongst the Kenya Defence Forces’ commanders, the Deputy County Commissioner for Bura Fafi, the Officer Commanding Station of Bura Police Station, and personnel from all the agencies.

The exercise that saw the residents receive clean water, foodstuffs, and free medical services reflected a concerted effort aimed at improving the welfare of communities within the operational area while strengthening collaboration among security and civil authorities.

The community through this got the platform to converse with the Multi Agency team who acknowledged the concerns raised by the locals and encouraged them to continue cooperating with security agencies by sharing information that would enhance peace, security, and development in the area

The residents expressed appreciation for the outreach and pledged to continue working closely with security agencies in promoting peace and stability and this clearly indicated that lasting security is achieved not only through operational success but also through trust, cooperation, and meaningful partnerships between government institutions and the communities they serve.
