Spiritual well-being remains a vital pillar of holistic personnel development, contributing to moral integrity, discipline, resilience and a strong sense of purpose. Within the military environment, spiritual nourishment plays an important role in shaping character, strengthening personal values and guiding Service personnel in balancing their professional responsibilities with personal and family well-being.
In this regard, the Defence Forces Recruits Training School (DFRTS) hosted Col (Rev) G. M. Mwanyanya of the Anglican Church for a spiritual nourishment engagement aimed at strengthening the faith, moral consciousness and spiritual well-being of personnel.
During the engagement, Col (Rev) Mwanyanya underscored the importance of cultivating a personal relationship with God, remaining steadfast in faith and seeking divine guidance when confronted with life’s challenges noting a strong spiritual foundation provides moral direction, enhances inner resilience and encourages discipline and responsible conduct both in and out of uniform.
Further, he commended the school’s leadership for its continued support and contribution towards the restoration of the church, emphasizing the importance of providing personnel with an enabling environment for worship, prayer, fellowship and spiritual reflection.
The engagement culminated with the reopening, dedication and restoration service of St. Philip’s Church, marking a significant milestone in the school’s institutional and spiritual journey, restoring an important centre for worship, prayer, fellowship and spiritual growth.
The activities reaffirmed DFRTS’s commitment to holistic personnel development by recognising the role of spiritual well-being in fostering discipline, moral integrity and resilience.
