Colonel Peter Kariuki Karigih currently serves as the Colonel Coordination at the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC). He enlisted in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) on 16 August 1994, and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 29 August 1995. He began his career in the Kenya Air Force at Moi Air Base.
Colonel Karigih is a holder of a Diploma in National Security and Strategy from the National Defence University-Kenya. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Kenya Defence Advisor to South Sudan. His previous appointments include Commanding Officer of CSD, Staff Officer 1 Supply Tech and Instructor at the Defence Intelligence Academy, among others. Notably, he served as a military observer in the United Nations Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2004, military expert at the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) in DRC from 2018 – 2019.
