CONCERTED EFFORT TO CONSERVE THE ECOSYSTEM

Personnel from the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) on Friday, 27 March 2026, conducted a successful tree-planting exercise at Alliance High School, with a total of 5,000 trees planted in a strong show of commitment to environmental conservation.

The exercise brought together JCSC personnel, students and staff of Alliance High School, as well as key stakeholders from the Kiambu Water and Sewerage Company, Ondiri Swamp Conservancy Club, the Kenya Forest Service and Miotoni-Heart Club, represented by Ms Martha Kagiri. Their collective participation reflected a shared resolve to promote environmental sustainability through practical action and community partnership.

The event underscored the importance of tree planting as a vital tool in addressing climate change, restoring degraded ecosystems and enhancing biodiversity. Participants were also encouraged to take responsibility for nurturing the seedlings to maturity, ensuring that the initiative delivers lasting environmental benefits.

The initiative aligns with Kenya’s national goal of increasing forest cover and supports the objectives of Mazingira Day, which champions environmental care and climate action across the country. It also demonstrated the impact of multi-stakeholder cooperation in advancing conservation efforts at the local level.
