CDF INSPECTS ONGOING ROYSAMBU MILITARY HOUSING PROJECT

The Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri, today conducted an inspection tour of the ongoing military housing project at Roysambu, Nairobi.

The Public–Private Partnership (PPP) project comprises 26 blocks with a total of 500 housing units, aimed at addressing the accommodation deficit within the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and providing service members with decent and modern homes that enhance their welfare.

The housing estate is strategically located to ensure easy access to the nearby Level IV Nairobi Regional Hospital (NRH) in Kahawa and other public social amenities within the surrounding area. The project has also been designed with accessibility features to cater for KDF personnel living with disabilities.

In addition, the Roysambu Military Housing Project will include several support amenities such as Defence Forces Welfare Services (DEFWES) shops and cafeterias, as well as a kindergarten. A primary school will be constructed in the second phase to serve children of KDF personnel residing in the estate.

Phase two of the project is set to commence soon after the commissioning of phase one, expected soon. It will include the construction of 280 additional houses at Roysambu and 3,270 houses under Kahawa Garrison Phase One.
