Central Command (CENTCOM) is mandated to conduct all matters regarding border securitization, special operations, multi-agency operations, Chemical, Biological Radiological Nuclear Defence, Disaster Management and Response in the KDF, among others.

The Seminar was officially opened by Maj Gen John Nkoimo, General Officer Commanding (GOC) CENTCOM who in his opening address welcomed the participants and emphasised on the importance of the seminar in enhancing skills and capabilities of officers and service personnel. He further reminded the participants on points of focus relating to CDFs Strategic Vision of ‘One Force, One Mission’ and the need to have a force which is deeply rooted in professionalism.

The seminar focused on roles and organisations of CENTCOM, security overview, drone and counter-drone awareness, regimental ethics, mental health awareness, financial management, drug and substance abuse among many other topics.

The seminar was officially closed by Brig Abraham Biwott, Deputy GOC CENTCOM who informed the participants on the need for mission readiness. He encouraged all the service personnel to build on the engagements and lessons learnt during the seminar to strengthen KDF doctrine, improve coordination and ensure KDF remains agile, mission ready and responsive to conventional and emerging threats.
