On 23 December 2025, the Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF), Major General Bernard Waliaula, presided over the graduation ceremony of eighteen Rotary Wing pilots at the Aviation Centre of Excellence. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the Kenya Air Force’s continued efforts to enhance operational capability and mission readiness, while also serving as an early Christmas gift to the newly qualified pilots.
Upon arrival at Laikipia Air Base, Major General Waliaula was received by the Base Commander, Brigadier Mohamud Farah, who briefed him on the Base’s operational readiness and ongoing mission execution.
The graduating cohort underwent rigorous flying training on both fixed-wing and rotary-wing platforms, conducted locally and abroad. The comprehensive programme equipped the pilots with the skills and competence required for deployment across various rotary-wing platforms within the Kenya Air Force.
In his address, Major General Waliaula congratulated the graduands for their dedication, resilience, and commitment to service. He noted that the course was demanding, testing both their mental fortitude and technical proficiency.
“I charge you with the responsibility to discharge your duties with professionalism, integrity, and sound judgement in the execution of your roles,” he said. He further urged them to continually strive for excellence, avoid complacency, and uphold cohesion in all their deployments.
As the festive season approaches, the Commander Kenya Air Force took the opportunity to wish officers, service members, and their families a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2026.
The Commandant, Aviation Centre of Excellence, Colonel Douglas Muthuri, reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to delivering world-class training to trainee pilots in furtherance of its mandate and vision.
