COMMANDER KENYA AIR FORCE VISITS KISUMU REGION

On 13 August 2025, the Commander Kenya Air Force, Major General Bernard Waliaula, undertook a visit to Kisumu Forward Operating Base (FOB), where he was received by the Base Commander Laikipia Air Base, Brigadier Mohamud Farah.

Kisumu FOB, is an installation that anchors the Kenya Defence Forces’ operations in terms of air support, logistics and rapid response across the western side of the country.

The visit was aimed at boosting troop morale, evaluating operational readiness, and enabling the Commander to familiarise himself with the bases and formations under his command. Major General Waliaula toured key facilities, assessed infrastructure, and held candid engagements with service members on ways to enhance the efficiency and operational value of the base.

Addressing the troops, the Commander commended their discipline, cleanliness, and dedication to duty, noting with pride the progress made in strengthening operational capabilities.

“Maintain the highest levels of professionalism and discipline. Continue to look out for each other and take pride in your work. You are not merely representing the Kenya Air Force, you are defining it,” he affirmed.

He further reiterated the Kenya Air Force’s strategic objectives, urging personnel to remain cohesive, motivated, and mission-focused.
Brigadier Farah welcomed the Commander’s choice of Kisumu FOB for his visit, expressing gratitude to Defence Headquarters and the Kenya Air Force for their continued support.

Also in attendance were the Managing Director of Defence Forces Welfare Services, Brigadier Peter Limo, alongside senior officers, officers, and service members.
