COMMANDER KENYA ARMY TROPHY GOLF TOURNAMENT 2025

The Deputy Army Commander, Major General Mohamed Hassan, represented the Commander Kenya Army at the Commander Kenya Army Trophy Golf Tournament, held at Ruiru Sports Club.

The event, organized by the Kenya Defence Forces Golf Association (KDFGA), plays a key role in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) wellness programme, which promotes physical fitness, mental well-being, and camaraderie among both military and civilian participants.

In his address, Maj Gen Hassan highlighted the tournament’s significance in fostering a balance of physical, mental, and social strength — essential attributes for military personnel. He expressed appreciation to the sponsors for their generous support and commended the golfers for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. He noted that the game of golf cultivates patience, discipline, and focus — qualities that are vital in military service.

Brigadier Victor Kang’ethe, Chairperson of the Kenya Defence Forces Golf Association, applauded the large turnout and the competitive yet friendly spirit displayed throughout the tournament. He extended gratitude to the sponsors and participants for their contribution to the event’s success.

The overall winner of the tournament was Major General Timothy Lekolool. The event attracted over 300 golfers, who competed keenly across various categories, showcasing a wide range of talent from golfers across the country.

The tournament was proudly sponsored by Kingdom Bank, Isuzu, SANCOM, and Defence Forces Welfare Services (DEFWES), whose representatives underscored the importance of supporting golf as a platform for promoting wellness, teamwork, and community engagement.
