The Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General David Ketter, visited troops deployed at the Operation Maliza Uhalifu (OMU) Multi Agency Command Centre (MACC) Headquarters in Chemolingot, Baringo County, where he conveyed festive season greetings and goodwill as the holiday period approaches. The visit was aimed at assessing troop morale and welfare while appreciating their steadfast commitment to restoring peace and security in the North Rift region.
During the visit, Lt Gen Ketter toured the OMU MACC Headquarters and received briefings on ongoing operations, security trends and inter agency coordination mechanisms supporting the mission. He interacted with officers and service members drawn from the Kenya Defence Forces and other security agencies, commending the cohesion and professionalism demonstrated under challenging operational conditions.
Addressing the troops, the Commander praised their resilience, discipline and dedication to duty, noting that their efforts had contributed significantly to improved security and public confidence in the area. He emphasised the need to uphold professionalism, discipline and respect for civil authority while executing assigned tasks.
“Your commitment and sacrifice in safeguarding our nation, particularly in this operational environment, is highly commendable. As we approach the festive season, remain focused, vigilant and united in purpose as you continue to deliver on your mandate,” said Lt Gen Ketter.
The Army Commander conveyed festive greetings from the Chief of the Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri and the entire Kenya Defence Forces leadership. He reaffirmed that the welfare of deployed troops remains a priority and assured them of continued support to enhance operational effectiveness and living conditions. Lt Gen Ketter further urged the troops to maintain a high state of alert during the holiday period, underscoring the importance of sustained vigilance to deter any emerging security threats.
Present during the visit were Senior officers, officers and service members from the KDF and partnering security agencies deployed to the OMU theatre.
