DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS HOSTS KENYA SCOUTS ASSOCIATION

The Kenya Scouts Association (KSA) today paid a courtesy visit to the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi to explore areas of collaboration and strengthen its long-standing partnership with the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

The KSA delegation was led by the Chief Scout Prof Jacob Kaimenyi. He was accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer Mr. Moses Jonathan Ochieng and Board members including Mr. Andrew Gitonga, Ms. Alice Kirungi and Ms. Elizabeth Nyaberi among other key KSA staff.

The Assistant Chief of the Defence Forces Personnel & Logistics, Major General Edward Rugendo, while welcoming the delegation, underscored the shared value of discipline that defined both organizations, having also been a scout earlier on. He reaffirmed KDF’s continued support to the Scouts Movement within the resources available.

During the discussions, the Kenya Scouts Association highlighted its commitment to youth life skill development, mental health education and service to the country. Key areas of collaboration discussed included environmental security through tree planting, logistical and infrastructure support.
