DEFENCE PS INSPECTS NEW KDF HOUSES IN ROYSAMBU

Defence Principal Secretary Dr Patrick Mariru on Monday made an inspection visit of the new Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) housing estate in Roysambu, Nairobi County.

The 500-unit estate is part of the first phase of an ambitious housing programme by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to bridge the acute accommodation deficit facing KDF.

The Roysambu housing project that’s 93% complete is part of a nationwide 3,069 units intervention being undertaken through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

The 500 houses at Roysambu are organized in 26 blocks, comprising of both single and married quarters.

Phase two of the KDF housing programme to deliver 10,000 houses is also underway in Embakasi, Kahawa and Lang’ata Garissons.

The Principal Secretary was accompanied by KDF’s Director of Personnel and Logistics Major General Edward Rugendo among other senior military officials.
