Moi Air Base Primary School lit up with enthusiasm and aspiration on 8 May 2025, as it held its first ever Career Day. The event, held within the school’s assembly grounds, brought together students, teachers, professionals, and proud parents in a vibrant celebration of dreams and possibilities.
The day’s theme, “Igniting Young Minds for a Brighter Future” set the tone for a series of exciting presentations, hands-on demonstrations, and interactive sessions with professionals from various sectors including medicine, aviation, engineering, law, hospitality, media, and the military.
In a colourful display of ambition, students dressed in the uniforms and attire of their dream careers , doctors in lab coats, engineers with helmets, pilots in full flight gear, and budding journalists holding microphones. The school compound buzzed with questions and curiosity as learners interacted with invited guests who shared their personal career journeys and offered advice on education, discipline, and hard work
Facilitators featured professionals from various fields, including officers from the Kenya Air Force who spoke about the importance of discipline and patriotism. Medical personnel from the Kenya Air Force shared inspiring stories from the healthcare frontlines, while entrepreneurs encouraged students to embrace creativity, innovation, and resilience in pursuit of their goals.
Mrs Pauline Njuguna, the school head teacher, praised the initiative.
“Career Day is not just about dressing up. It is about opening our children’s minds to the world of possibilities that education can offer. We want them to dream big and most importantly to believe that with effort and integrity those dreams are achievable.”
Parents also played a vital role with many participating as guest presenters. They shared their professional experiences, helping students connect classroom learning with real world applications.
The day concluded with performances by students — songs, poems, and skits that creatively portrayed various careers and emphasized the importance of hard work, perseverance, and service to the community.
Kamukunji Education Officer Mrs Phanice Chesari implored all stakeholders to nurture each learner’s potential based on their abilities and interests.
Moi Air Base Primary School Career Day 2025 left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance, sowing seeds of ambition and empowering learners to take charge of their futures.
